Instrument Transformer

CURRENT TRANSFORMERS

Outdoor Oil Filled Current Transformer is divided in two types live yank CTs and Dead Tank CTs. In Live ank Cts core and secondary windings are insulated from high voltage with insulating material and placed in the top tank the primary winding in Live Tank Current transformers is homogeneously distributed around the core to create a current transformer which has low reactance and excellent transient performance.

Outdoor Oil Filled Dead Tank Current Transformer is a type of current transformer in which both the core and secondary windings of the transformer are placed in the bottom tank. This bottom tank is then earthed to make it dead, and hence the name dead tank transformer. In Dead Tank CTs, the primary winding is made to pass through an insulator constructed of porcelain material.

It is then connected to the bottom tank and insulated from the tank and the cores of the transformer. As high accuracy is required for measurement purpose and high operating values required for protection purpose, these two functions are met distinctly in a current transformer by providing metering core and protection cores separately with different functional properties.

Now a days in view of high cost production of electrical energy, utilities specify very high accuracy class such as 0.5S & 0.2S (as per established standards) which measure energy accurately at a value as low as 1% of the transmitted current.

We at Ambartra can manufacture upto 132KV

POTENTIAL / VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS

Oil filled voltage transformer is a type of instrument transformer is used to step down voltage in an electrical system to a level measurable by various metering instruments.

We manufacture Outdoor Oil Filled Potential (Voltage) Transformer upto 132kv system voltage. This design has a single tank. The core and windings are contained in the lower tank. The primary winding is taken through the HT insulator to be connected to the primary terminal arranged at the top of the HT insulator.

The secondary windings are connected to secondary terminals placed on the lower tank. We can manufacture all voltage factors varying from 1.2 to 1.9 continuous to suit various system earthing conditions.

As high accuracy is required for measurement purpose and high operating values required for protection purpose, these two functions are met distinctly in a potential transformer by providing metering core and protection cores separately with different functional properties.

RESIDUAL VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS

Residual Voltage Transformers (RVTs) are category of instrument transformers which are in electrical systems to protect capacitor banks from earthing faults and prevent damage. The main function of these class of instrument transformers is to detect neutral to ground fault conditions and discharge the capacitor banks as and when required automatically.

We are Original Inventor first time in the world of 11 KV RVT in 1970, 3 ph PT & RVT in 1984 & Tertiary Protection RVT in 1994. Our RVT and capacitor banks are working for since we have introduced first time protection to capacitor from since 1983 (33 years) and without single failure of capacitors and RVTs, which no body has achieved. The design kept same, size same, cross section same and no lesser part

COMBINED CT-PT UNIT

Three oil immersed CTs and three PTs are mounted in a single outdoor type container to be used for measurement of Energy and related values for small industrial plants where elaborate system is not affordable. A large number of such units have been supplied by us all over the country. These metering units as they are popularly called are oil filled type units and are ideally used for outdoor installations although they may be used indoors subject to certain conditions.

Metering Units consist of a combined structure which is manufactured using high grade steelThe metering unit is filled with oil immersed current transformers and voltage transformers and as such are oil filled type units. High Voltage Metering Units can be used for both 3 phase 3 wire metering system or for 3 phase 4 wire metering system. In most circumstances they are used for electrical systems of medium voltages upto 33 KV.
